Beetroot for Health

'Beta Vulgaris'or beetroot are commonly a deep red, round vegetable used for pickling. Can be eaten raw in
salads. It is commonly believed to be good for the blood. This is not correct. It is not high in iron so it will not help prevent anaemia. Beetroot is a good source of fiber. It is regarded as a laxative; a cure for bad breath, coughs and headaches.
